Where's Waldhose? - A Looper Adventure!

Preface

Loopers are a strange sort. I've included this thread of postings from the AGLCA Forum as an example.....

America's Great Loop Cruisers Association (AGLCA) a.k.a. (Adults Grownup and Leaving Children Ashore), hosts a website that we can all communicate with, both in general and one-on-one. For this post a mapping tool that allows "us" to "see" each other was the techno piece that helped a boat hose left at a dock in Georgia find it's way back to it's owner in Maryland several months later as it passed hands on a number of looper boats as they leapfrogged each other up the east coast.

I know that our Hose is going through separation anxiety. I know that it is in good hands and being taken care of. That was more important then living at a marina. We are doing the whole loop so if it gets passed on, we are on Meets so you can find us. Also, if you have it for awhile, be sure to take a marker and put your name and boat on the hose near the female end. When it makes it back to us, Deb would love to add it to her blog and thank all that shared. It would also be fun if you have our traveling hose, take a picture of you with it and post it so we can see where our lost hose has traveled. If the last person that has it cannot find us or we cannot meet up, I know that our hose will have a great looper home but i'm hoping that it travels and see lots of new places and meets lots of new friends.

When we were at Jekyll Island we got an email from Debbie Russell, Gypsies Palace, 47 ft Power Cat, that they had left their new water hose and filter on the dock. She asked if we would bring it to the Rendezvous. We were not attending, but offered to take it along and see if we could find a Looper going that way. Great ice breaker, but we have not found anyone. Is anyone passing through North Myrtle Beach that could give the hose a ride back to its owner? It misses them. Even if you are passing on the Rendezvous, Debbie thinks you might meet up along the way. We are at Myrtle Beach Yacht Club until Wednesday morning when we will cross our wake in Southport, NC. Please contact us if you can help a hose out. Jim and Terri Dawson Lucky Ducks 224-520-1564 or 224-622-5644

Waldhose is slowly moving North. Adagio & crew received him from the crew of Lucky Ducks in Little River on April 26. Now Waldhose is ready to hitch a ride from Belhaven with Derek & Lori Gamradt on Donna May. Hopefully a reunion with his owners on Gypsies Palace is not too far off. What great news.... Thanks Ron & Jan and Derek & Lori... Waldhose has been sending positive vibes thru the Loopers Meets app so I know he is doing well. We are currently in Annapolis at the Chesapeake Yacht Club. We are driving back to Jacksonville, FL to help a friend and plan on returning to Gypsies Palace late afternoon on the 18th. The replacement hose (no name... wants to be anonymous out of fear of being accused of leaving Waldhose at the dock. He wanted all the attention) has decided that he misses Waldhose and is looking forward to seeing him again. Derek & Lori, be sure to take a picture and send it to us. Also sign the end of the hose with your name and boat name :)

Curious.........

Is Waldo's just being a hanger-on? Or is he being put to work, earning his passage? We all know that it would be healthier having water run through him occasionally, just like the rest of us. And right now, having a "cleanse" is all the rage. Keeps "bad" stuff from growing inside. Hold course and speed,

Thanks Larry, Waldhose is pretty much a loafer. He likes to curl up and nap all day. He is, though, picky about his water quality. I hooked him up one day without the filter and when I turned it on, he threw up all over me so he is pretty picky. One day I needed him to work quickly for awhile and he was up to the Pressure and handled it well.

It is with a heavy heart but high spirits that Waldhose has been transferred to Pat and Terry on the m/v Happy Happy. It is worth noting that in addition to the issues described previously, Waldhose has also picked up a dribbling problem but I was able to solve it with Absorbent Pads :). Pat and Terry have traveled with Gypsies Palace and I rest easy tonight knowing that they will soon be reunited with their hose. I will defer to Happy Happy for further details on this evenings festivities as Waldhose changed hands. I would be remiss if I did not thank Ron and Jan for the amazing job they did caring for Waldhose prior to us. They deserve a round of applause for getting it this far. To all concerned Waldhose has been secured aboard, and given prior experience and handling, we hope accommodations in the guest cabin will be acceptable. After hearing we would be going up the Potomac to D.C. prior to heading up the Chesapeake (and hopefully a final return to Gypsies Palace) Waldhose expressed a desire to attend FBI confirmation hearings and to see the Hope diamond. Not sure if Waldhose will clear security scanners. Stay tuned. If anyone will be on a quicker path please let us know. Cheers Terry, Pat and "Critter" Moy's HMS Happy Happy

Waldhose is pretty easy to please. He will be happy to be among friends and pets. Jazzy, our dog, has mixed feelings about getting him back. Those Traumatic memories of baths comes to mind. Concerning the 'leak', I realize that in Hose life terms (1 hose year =45 human years) he is getting pretty old and an order of Depends might be forthcoming. I know that he will want to attend the hearings and can probably get thru the security check after a through pat down... but I can see the headlines now... FBI candidate feels that they are being Hosed in the confirmation hearings. Next up... Waldhose is getting closer to home :) Great picture!!!!!!!!

Don't wanna be too optimistic but Waldhose jumped ship today in Salt Pond to make an express run to Annapolis this Thursday on Dreamboat Annie in hopes of le grande reunion with Mummy and Dadieaux. In between, Waldhose had a great time in Norfolk at the grand reopening of the Waterside (can you find him in the photo?).

Kinda bittersweet if it happens but would definitely be a tribute to that looper "git er done" gusto.

If not hoping any loopers passing thru Annapolis will keep an eye out on this thread to see if Waldhose needs to be adopted again cause he missed his connection with Gypsies Palace. As as far as missing out on the D.C. side trip, apparently Waldhose could not contain himself and "leaked" his intention to be at the upcoming FBI investigation hearings, to which an unconfirmed 3am tweet noted, "that hoser was not going to spill the beans on me! He's washed up you hear me, washed up!". Terry, Pat and "Critter" Moy's HMS Happy Happy

Waldhose Is Home!!! The true meaning of being part of the Loopers Assoc. (AGLCA) shines with the help from everyone that made it possible for Waldhose to return to Gypsies Palace. The Saga unfolded after he got home. Because something was funny in the story, we decided to get to the truth. After he got home, we had a Water Boarding session and he ran at the mouth with the facts. Here is the whole story. We lost Waldhose in Jekyll Island around April 15th. We realized he was missing the day after we left. We remembered that he was connected to the water system which was across from Gypsies Palace. That is why we thought that we had accidently left him there. As it turns out, it was more then that. He actually hid because he was jumping ship! Now we know why. You see, when Waldhose joined us he worked his butt off. I soon realized that we had stretched him to his limits. So, I decided to make his life easier and would find him a mate. Someone that he could “connect with”. They could have a real “attachment” and work together. I got on my computer and logged in to www.Match-hose.com . There she was, Ava Gardenhose, a Long, Slinky no Kink drink of water. The perfect Match… well, almost. Waldhose had been known to be Kinky at times.. but still, like all Matches, almost perfect. I saw the problem starting when we got Ava Gardenhose home. There he was, curled up on the dock with a couple of kinks. I thought “Oh Boy”. It started when I tried to get the two to connect. Waldhose wanted to cross thread and Ava wouldn’t have anything to do with it so I separated them. I also noticed that he was possessive of Gypsies Palace and no slick female end of going to change that! At Jekyll Island he decided to jump ship and get away from Ava Gardenhose. When we realized that he was missing, along with his close companion Aqua Filter, Debbie got on to the Meets Application to see if any Loopers were at Jekyll Island and could pick him up and help deliver him back to us. Even if they couldn’t get him to us, we thought that it was better that he continued his life doing the Great Loop rather then sitting at a marina. So Debbie found out that Lucky Ducks just docked there. They agreed to find Waldhose and help to bring him to us. After searching, they found Waldhose hiding at the marina. Apparently, he realized he made a mistake and wanted to come home. He had it made with this own room on Lucky Ducks. They attached a floating rubber ducky to the neck of Aqua Filter as a PFD in case they got stopped. But they could tell he was sad when they figured he had been crying, finding water drops on the bed cover. As they moved along, they met up with Adagio who helped by picking up Waldhose and carrying him north. He was so happy that he cried there too but they had rags to wipe up the tears of this clown. With a stop in Coinjock, was invited to dinner but declined when he found out they served Prime Rib… he’s a vegetarian. Then, they met up with Donna Mae who helped move him closer to us over 3 days. They ran into Happy Happy, a great couple, who let us know that Waldhose would be onboard with them along with the pets that were onboard. Now Waldhose is a little shy of Cats and Birds so he kinda hid off but was willing to help in anyway he could. They tempted him with taking him to Washington DC for the FBI director confirmation hearings. but there was some question about passing security. I felt he could get by. We found out that the Trump administration heard about Waldhose going to the confirmation via Tweeter. If the new FBI director wasn’t approved they would feel they got Hosed, so that trip was canceled. After that, Dream Boat Annie offered to help him finish his trip. The report was that Waldhose was so appreciative that he woke up early and with filtered water, made coffee and washed dishes. We were in Annapolis at the Chesapeake Yacht Club and I got a call that they were in Annapolis at Pier 7 so we ran over and picked Waldhose up. He was so excited that he wrapped around me and gave me a big hug and a very wet kiss! He was so appreciative of everyone that helped him get back home. Everyone had written on the connection hose between Aqua Filter and the dock and Waldhose wants to mount that in his sleeping quarters. Now, Waldhose and Aqua Filter have accepted Ava Gardenhose and the “threesome” is working out quite well. They have a very attached relationship between them and never want to be separated. So life is good and we are continuing the Loop. Thanks to all those that helped. Debbie will be posting pictures on our blog www.coastaljourneys.com . To The Loop!! We hope Waldhose enjoyed his time on Adagio. Happy he didn't go overboard in the 50+ wind at New Bern when our bimini came loose and a rail went overboard. Ron & Jan Matuska AGLCA Harbor Hosts, Dunedin FL AGLCA #8079 MTOA #4460 www.tugadagio.blogspot.com

He is very thankful. Adagio. I don't think he could have fallen over. He has this ability to grab onto stanchions. I know because he likes to prank me when I'm washing the boat by grabbing a stanchion, cleat or any other thing barely sticking out. He also likes to get kinky on me, usually when a girl walks by.

So. . People have asked about the reunion. In order to share the picture, I had to get a photo release from Waldhose because he felt it shows him as a wimpy hose. Sloppy kiss...very sloppy.
