We'd heard about Muscle Shoals and it's long history with the music business but had no idea how prominent this place was until we visited. This recording studio at Muscle Shoals was unique as it was owned and operated by the 4 session musicians (The Swampers) that were the backup band. The discography for this place started in the 1960's with Cher and went on to include an amazing list of artists from Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Mavis Staples, Wilson Pickett, Bob Seger, Willie Nelson, the Rolling Stones, Paul Simon, Leon Russel, Bob Dylan, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Joe Cocker, Rod Stewart.........................whew!
