This year is a special year for Montreal. It’s celebrating the 40th Anniversary of hosting the Worlds Fair, Canada’s 150th Anniversary and it’s own 350th Anniversary! Montreal is in Quebec Province and so is a French-speaking first place. A bit of a challenge and seeing English as the “lower”, second part of the signs was amusing. A very provincial, European and cosmopolitan place. The home of Cirque du Soleil. These Montreallers are sooo civilized!

We got a 3 day pass for unlimited subway/Metro travel and access to 50 museums and attractions…….

The last time I was in Montreal was in 1967. As an 8th grader with a bus load of kids from the inner city of Detroit we got to go on an extended bus trip to visit the Worlds Fair, “Expo 67”. On the bus ride up I started showing signs of having chicken pox and was quarantined to my room for 3 days while all the other kids visited the fair. On the bus ride back I had to sit in the front seat separated by several rows of empty seats. Montreal was fun this time!
