Kingston and Lake O

We end our cruise on the Rideau at Kingston (Ontario) at its outlet to Lake Ontario. A couple days to catch up on laundry, reprovision and do some boat maintenance (the decks are covered with bugs!).

Kingston is a fun town, the downtown district has been redeveloping and has a full collection of shops, pubs and sidewalk cafes and is only a couple blocks from the marina. Lot's of history too.

From here we need to do a half day crossing along the northern shores of Lake Ontario and then a little more open water on the Bay of Quinte to get to the Trent River, the beginning of the Trent Severn Waterway to Georgian Bay. So with a good weather window (low winds and no storms) we head out.

Coming in to Kingston we see signs of the heavy rains/flooding that closed the locks upstream on the Rideau.

Our marina in Kingston is an active boatyard so many our neighbors are work boats.

A "good" day crossing Lake Ontario.
